
Preparation
- Prepare surfaces in a skillful manner, according to paint manufacturer's specification
- Pressure wash all surfaces to be painted with a minimum 2000 lbs. psi pressure washer
It is the Contractor's responsibility to exhibit care during power wash to prevent damage
to building or water intrusion into dwelling
- Clean surfaces free of dust, dirt, oil, grease and other foreign matter prior to the
application of the prime coat
- Repair voids, nicks, cracks, dents, etc. using suitable patching material and finish
flush to adjacent surface. Remove all peeling paint
- Prime ferrous metal. Remove all foreign matter. Prime scratched and abraded
areas with appropriate primer
- Galvanized metal. Remove all foreign matter and clean entire surface with mineral
spirits. Pretreat with VINYL WASH PRE-TREATMENT. Apply primer the same day as
pretreatment is applied
Application
- Apply material evenly, free from sags, runs, crawls, holidays or defects. Mix to
proper consistency, brush our smooth, leaving minimum of brush marks; enamel and varnish
uniformly flowed on
- Apply paint by brush, roller or spray
- Apply finish coats and undercoats for all types of finishes in strict accordance with
paint manufacturer recommendations. All undercoats shall be tinted slightly to
approximate the finish color
- Allow each coat to thoroughly dry before succeeding coat application. For oil
paints, allow at least 48 hours between coats of exterior work, unless otherwise
recommended by the material manufacturer
Site Clean Up
- Remove all surplus materials and debris from the site at completion of each day's work.
Remove all splatters from all finished surfaces. Leave paint storage spaces
in a clean and finished condition
- Hazardous materials shall be disposed of in strict accordance with local, state and
federal laws.
